“Maldiño, a vergoña da familia” (Maldiño, the shame of the family) is my first illustrated book and is aimed at children. Written and illustrated by me, it was published by Antela Editorial in Galician.

Maldiño’s parents expect him to keep up an odd family tradition, but he only disappoints them again and again. Can Maldiño be happy despite everything?
A story about expectations, self-knowledge and acceptance where you discover that changing old dynamics is possible.

The book was awarded the Frei Martín Sarmiento Prize in 2025 in the children’s book category.
This literary award is organized by Escolas Católicas de Galicia, and it’s the students themselves who choose the winning works.
